Abstract
Most mothers can produce sufficient breast milk to sustain adequate growth only for the first four to six months. By this time baby weighs 6 kg and requires 600 Kcal for his growth. The aim should be to start adding semisolids to the diet at this time so that the balance of the energy is supplied by semisolids.
